Kimberly Clark
LISW-S Clinical Social Worker
Kimberly graduated from the University of Toledo in 2004 with a BA in Psychology and in 2011 with a Master’s in Social Work.
About Kimberly
During her education she spent time interning with a school program for emotionally and behaviorally challenged children as well as in the forensic unit of an Ohio hospital.
Kimberly is dually licensed in the states of Michigan and Ohio. She spent the first several years of her career as a clinical social worker working with those with eating disorders in the outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential settings.
In 2014, she branched out into private practice. Current areas of concentration include anxiety, depression, relationships, sexual issues, parenting, and life transitions- ages 16 and older.
Recently Kimberly began to pursue a PhD in Clinical Sexology and Certification through an AASECT approved program. She looks forward to bringing this new skill set and knowledge to the population that she serves.
Kimberly knows that the most important piece of therapy is building therapeutic rapport and trust and works hard to make sure that her clients feel safe and heard when in her presence. Open communication, boundaries, vulnerability, and supportive feedback will be the foundations of building this rapport as you begin the therapeutic journey together.
It is usually very easy for me to begin writing, but the gravity of how much Kimberly has helped me save my own life is difficult to even put into words. When I first began seeing Kim I was severely bulimic, abusing alcohol, and completely intertwined in a cycle of physical, generational, and societal trauma. After almost two years of working with Kim I have fully recovered from an eating disorder that I, word for word, told Kim on my first session "I don't think I will ever be able to give this up". I have given up many other addictive behaviors. I have put boundaries in place that I never thought were possible. I have changed my career to something that is true and real to me and I am currently in the process of beginning to start my own business. If you are questioning whether or not therapy with Kim is a good fit for you, I promise you, you won't regret it, I never thought life could look and feel so beautiful.
